Indian law students:

IIJ highly recommends the law students to spend time in law firms before obtaining law degrees to get some practical knowledge of "What a lawyer actually does"? Gone are those days when a lawyer merely meant "a person wearing black coat, white band and running in the courts and chambers with heaps of papers all around him". With the opening of the Indian economy, the world of opportunities has arrived at the door steps of the lawyers as well. Around the world, lawyers are involved with more and more complex and diverse non-litigious practice than litigation practice. Although in India, that is not quiet the situation, yet lawyers are able to understand that they can build up their practice even on non-litigious matters, although Litigation continues to constitute a core area of a law firm's practice.
